wow...how bad did this turn out...Will scrap soon, just wanted to post because it is a little cute
this is actually quite old though, over 2 months or so now...I drew it a little after I first design Lady's Parthenian look. I wanted to draw something cell shaded like Loz:The Wind Waker, seeing I hadn't in awhile, and I remember ~cocolin had just shown her new design of Rio, so I figured why not.
lighting is just awful, and the shading could be much better, but I do like how Rio came out, especially seeing this is my first time drawing her in her new design.
the two look pretty content in the pic, but I bet in reality they wouldn't get along really well Rio is more independent, and Lady likes to fuss over people, probably causing a few fights between the two.
sort of like: Lady: Try not to come back a mess like last time. Hold on, let me fix your hair before you go, it's a little mesy.....Now don't go and hurt yourself in training either, those swords look dangerous! Rio: the only one who's going to get hurt is you...
Legend of Zelda and Kid Icarus are (c) to Nintendo Rio is ~cocolin[s character Lady is my own
I think the pic looks great (better than anything I can do so far). The BG is simple, but hey, cell-shaded stuff is -supposed- to be simple. One thing you never seem to credit yourself on is the way you draw bodies. Its no simple task, and you are great at it! The proportions are right, nothing looks too overshaded, and the lines and curves arent out of place.
So dont be so hard on yourself! I think you did a great job on this

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
